Welcome to the Biomedical Informatics Technical Support (BITS) homepage. This web site will serve as an guide to IT resources for DBMI Faculty, Staff and Students.

About BITS

BITS provides IT support to all members of the DBMI community. Our service area covers PC desktops, printers, servers as well as various 'Back Office' application products (e.g. Email, Web Servers, LDAP, backup). In addition, our group maintains the DBMI website and we offer consulting services to DBMI researcher on IT infrasturcture purchases and implementation.

How to Get Help

We are in the process of updating our the BITS support page by adding content that will hopefully answer some of the more common questions or concerns. Once complete our FAQs and Quick Guides will provide you with detailed infomation about DBMI computing services.

The BITS team understands that questions will always come up and we are here to help. If you need technical support help, please do not hestiate to contact us. The best way to reach BITS is to email us at support@dbmi.columbia.edu.

You can also stop by and ask a question. Feel free to stop by and ask a question between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM for general questions. After 2:00 PM, please email your questions and we will address them the following morning. Of course, we are always available to handle crisis situations and emergencies.
